Goodbye Expensive, Hello Affordables

Today was a good day. I felt really comfortable today in this affordable outfit below. Comfortable because of how affordable it was and because of how it felt on me. Thanks to Old Navy & Steve Madden :D
I purchased a brown and navy colored shirtdress (perfect for summer weekends and work week too), and I scored a pair of Steve Madden wedges in a color that goes well with BOTH my navy and brown shirtdresses from Old Navy. I can barely contain my excitement over these finds!
I'd never really been an Old Navy fan 'til this last year alone, where I quickly realized that if I wanted to afford my handbags and small leather goods *needs*, I'd have to compensate somewhere - so I did! Goodbye Nordstrom, Hello Nordstrom Rack! Goodbye Saks Fifth, Hello Off 5th (Saks Outlet to those that don't know..), Goodbye regularly priced Anthropologie, Hello back clearance section inside Anthropologie...and sales on Anthropologie dot com. Otherwise, off I go to Old Navy...and the clothes I find are just as comfy plus I can save more for my future "bag fund", right? ;P

Clutch A Clutch.

Ever since my Coach Patent Leather Shoulder Tote Bag days and my bad experience with color transfer from denim to white patent, I've sort of been traumatized by patent leather in general...and more specifically with Coach since it was my last Coach bag I had carried from that brand: The Limited Edition White Patent Leather Coach Shoulder Tote.

And then came Treesje. I've been sorta "lurking" around Treesje: learning & absorbing info like a sponge, and yes, when my bag fund increases, I'd love to add this to my collection. It's practical, functional, perfect sized clutch. Plus, all the reviews have been pretty good so far :D I see it with a dress w/splashes of navy stripes or blobs...or dark wash jeans with a cute lil' peasant top and high heeled wedges.

Treesje Metro Clutch, Navy Patent Leather, Gold or Gunmetal Hardware(?), 13"W x 7"H x 2.5"D, $340 USD

if you like this treesje metro clutch in navy patent & can afford it before moi, by all means click HERE to be directed to the link ;)

Whine, Wine, Whine

My hidden love affair with this bag.

Once upon a time, five years ago, I'd stumbled upon a hobo bag in an Indie Boutique called VERONICA M. in Laguna Beach, CA. It was a mustard sort of shade, with stud hardware for character, and the leather was sooo soft and smooshy, and the interior lining was paisley grograin or something. It was my ultimate GO TO bag. I loved it, used it, and admired it daily for one year. Then I moved, then it got lost! I was devastated and tried in vain to find a replacement to no avail.

3 years after losing my beloved hobo bag from VERONICA M. (which they confirmed w/me they no longer carried, sob-sob), I was introduced to Rebecca Minkoff via tPF!

I quickly forgot about my beloved hobo bag because I fell in love with a different satchel style type of bag: Morning After Bag by Rebecca Minkoff. I quickly became the proud owner of a MAB followed by a BBW MAM, which I'm proud to say I still have in my posession.

Now that I have my entire satchel collection completed (including my LV Speedy's!), I WANT this Wine Nikki by Rebecca Minkoff, which looks so much like my old hobo that was lost or kidnapped! The only difference is the color...and the brand of course.

So my plan of action? Well, I've already sold my LV SLG, so that will go to bag fund.
Current Dilemma? Now I LOVE Teal Nikki!!
AHHHHHH.
Can't have both!
And to make matters more complicated, I'm still not really over the Gucci Interlocking Medium Boston Bag in GG Fabric! ARGH. Bags, BITE ME.

Rebecca Minkoff Wine Nikki, 19" x 4" x 15" with a 9" strap drop, Soft & Smooshy Italian Leather, Black & White Cotton Floral Lining (which I'm not too fond of), Gold Hardware.

You can purchase this Nikki here (also as a reminder to myself, heehee):

Not too crazy about the floral lining though. Wish it were blue/white striped :(

Isn't the leather to die for!??!

And below is Rebecca Minkoff's Benjamin's Pouch in Teal. Such a gorgeous color, isn't it?

Hrmm. Decisions, decisions. Wine, Teal, Wine, Teal..

Whine, Whine, Whine!!
By the way, I just found out on http://www.asteralice.com/rebeccaminkoffbenfaminspouch-teal.aspx , you can get this RM pouch as a free gift with purchase on their site.Back of pouch. sooo functional, right?

Heaven Sent Speedy

In a fairytale world, Louis Vuitton Speedy's would fall from the sky above me. Or, I'd have a cloud of speedy's follow me wherever I would go. (((In my head))) Just like this picture below :D
The story of Louis Vuitton & Audrey Hepburn. Well, they didn't know of eachother of course, but have patience & read this interesting fact! ...

*image above is Audrey Hepburn with her Classic Monogram Canvas Speedy 30, circa late 1950's to early 1960's*

below info. via Wikipedia :D
In 1867, the company participated in the universal exhibition in Paris. To protect against the duplication of his look, he [Louis Vuitton] changed the Trianon design to a beige and brown stripes design in 1876. By 1885, the company opened its first store in London, England on Oxford Street. Soon thereafter, due to the continuing imitation of his look, in 1888, the Damier Canvas pattern was created by Louis Vuitton, bearing a logo that reads "marque L. Vuitton déposée," which translates to "mark L. Vuitton deposited" or, roughly, "L. Vuitton trademark". In 1892, Louis Vuitton died, and the company's management passed to his son.
1893 through 1936
After the death of his father, Georges Vuitton began a campaign to build the company into a worldwide corporation, exhibiting the company's products at the Chicago World Fair in 1893. In 1896, the company launched the legendary Monogram Canvas and made the worldwide patents on it. Its graphic symbols, including quatrefoils and flowers (as well as the LV monogram), were based on the trend of using Japanese and Oriental designs in the late Victorian Era. The patents later prove to be successful in stopping counterfeiting. In this same year, Georges traveled to the USA, where he toured various cities (such as NY and Chicago), selling Vuitton products during the visit. By 1914, the Louis Vuitton Building opened on the Champs-Elysees. It was the largest travel-goods store in the world at the time. Soon thereafter, the Louis Vuitton Speedy bag was introduced (both are still manufactured today). In 1936 Georges Vuitton passed away, and, his son, Gaston-Louis Vuitton, assumed control of the company.
During this period, the look of the leather was utilized in everything from small purses and wallets to larger pieces of luggage. In order to broaden its line, the company revamped its signature Monogram Canvas in 1959 to make it more supple, allowing it to be used for purses, bags, and wallets. Audrey Hepburn is seen carrying the bag in the film Charade (1963).

Speedy 30's in: Damier Azur, Damier Ebene, Snow Sculpture Speedy, Mono Canvas, Epi Cassis & Epi Rouge

Speedy 30 in Gold Mirage (Miroire) (?) Anyway, this is too gawdy for me. No offense to others, but I would not be able to pull this off unless I were Donatella Versaci or somethin'.

Here's Lil' Kim with her Black MC Speedy 30. *Sigh* I need this to go with my White MC Speedy 30 I purchased last August '08 :D I LOVE this Multicolor Speedy BAG!

Miss J. Simpson with her Black Cube Speedy. I like how it's a Speedy n' all, but I'm just not feeling this bag-especially for the price! I could buy 3 regular canvas Speedy's for the price of this 1 Black Speedy Cube or whatever..
So, my SA (sales associate) at my local LV Boutique showed this Patchwork Speedy 30 to me a year or so ago, and it was priced at $1,500 USD I think at the time? Anyway, I thought it looked sloppy. I couldn't wear it. Instead at the time, I purchased the classic Mono Canvas Speedy 30, which was about $1,000 LESS. And much more classic.

Okay, so, can I just say for those women obsessed with Louis Vuitton & the color pink - this would be THE perfect LV Speedy to have?!

This version of the Classic Louis Vuitton Speedy is the Luxe version of Speedy in Ostrich by Richard Prince, and at the time of launch (2008?) was available for purchase at $12,900 USD. Anyway, just wanted to share image below of how fabulous this Speedy looks. I'm a pink girl; I'm a speedy girl. This bag would suit me. Although I'm not loving the gold "Speedy" emblem. Still, this bag is simply gorgeous. Gorgeous! ..... !#$%^&*&^%$#! I. Want. It.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull Collection

The Neverfull Collection is LV LOve *girlsighhh*

So, I just found out the St. Moritz edition of this Neverfull GM pictured below is available with only 200-500 limited pieces at the St. Moritz Louis Vuitton Boutique in Switzerland, just as there were only 500 limited edition pieces of the St. Tropez Neverfull GM piece at the St. Tropez LV Boutique in France. Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm excited, but can't get my hopes up. I'd love to have this Baby Blue St. Moritz piece in my collection, but not only am I NOT going to Switzerland anytime soon, I'm sure there are locals in St. Moritz on the binder thick waitlist, right?
(Hey Chuck, will you be going home for a visit anytime soon?? heheee)

With so many Neverfull lines to choose from, and 3 different sizes, it's easy to find which style best suits your lifestyle. Personally, I've fallen in love with the most ginormous size of them all, Neverfull GM (Grande Modele size) in Damier Ebene, pictured directly below (middle tote). It's LOve!

*Louis Vuitton Prices listed reflect current USD as of June, 2009

Louis Vuitton Neverfull's Permanent Collection Piece.
Damier Ebene Neverfull GM ($750 USD); MM ($700 USD); PM ($650 USD)

Monogram Canvas Neverfull GM, $750 USD

Stephen Sprouse Limited Louise Vuitton Neverfull Rose MM, $1,360 USD

LE Moca Monogram Takashi Murakami Neverfull was only available for purchase at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Los Angeles, CA and was priced in 2008 at $950 USD. These bags are hard to find in excellent to mint condition. I just lOve the pink lining!
Finally below, this extremely rare Crocodile Neverfull is available for $32,000 (USD), but that was last year! I think the price increase has gone up to $38,000 (USD) - not completely sure now- but it's what I've heard. Why so pricey? Why, it's exotic crocodile leather of course. I'd rather save the $37,250 I don't have in my bag fund and buy the $750 Neverfull GM in Damier Ebene instead ;P Anyway, there are only 3 or 4 of these rare and exotic Neverfull Crocodile GM Totes worldwide (or so I've read somewhere). Wonder who has one? Beyonce or Jessica Simpson perhaps? ;)

Personally, I couldn't spend that much on a bag even if I had 1 million to burn! That's college tuition for a relative of mine or something!?#*%!
